Data Deletion

Option 1 — Delete your store data

Uninstall Merccho from your Shopify admin: Settings → Apps and sales channels → Merccho → Uninstall.

Shopify notifies us that you have uninstalled. Our access to your store is revoked immediately and we stop reading any further data. Your stored store data is then permanently deleted within 30 days. The delay is a grace period so that reconnecting shortly after an accidental uninstall does not cost you your history — reconnect within that window and your data is still there.

Option 2 — Delete your advertising data only

In Merccho, open AI ads and choose Disconnect. Your stored Meta access is removed immediately, we stop reading any further advertising data, and the advertising records we hold for your account are deleted.

This is an account-level connection, so it applies to every store on your Merccho account. Your store data is unaffected and Merccho keeps working.

You can also remove Merccho’s access from Meta’s side, under Business Settings → Integrations → Connected apps.

Option 3 — Delete your entire Merccho account

Email support@merccho.com from the address on your account, asking us to delete it. We confirm the request, delete your account and all associated store and advertising data, and email you when it is done. We complete this within 30 days and usually much sooner.

If you are a shopper, not a merchant

Merccho works on behalf of the stores you buy from — we have no direct relationship with you and cannot identify which store you mean. Contact the store you ordered from and ask them to delete your data. They can pass the request to us through Shopify, and we action it automatically against their store data.

What gets deleted

• Products, variants, images, collections and store content
• Inventory levels and locations
• Discounts, price rules and discount codes
• Orders and their line items
• Customer records, including names, email addresses, phone numbers and addresses
• Advertising accounts, campaigns, ad sets, ads and performance metrics
• Stored access tokens for every connected platform
• AI search data generated from your catalogue

What we keep, and why

We keep a compliance record showing that a deletion request was received and actioned, for up to 7 years. Data protection law requires us to be able to demonstrate that we honour these requests. The record contains the date, the type of request and an internal reference. It does not contain your customers’ personal data, your products, your orders or your advertising figures.

If you delete a single store but keep your Merccho account, your login details are kept so that you can continue signing in.

Getting a copy before you delete

Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover data afterwards. If you want an export of your data first, email support@merccho.com before starting, and we will send it to you.
